After numerous efforts to gain a later licence at our restaurant on Ecclesall Road so our clients can relax and enjoy after dinner drinks, we are now asking for the council to support us for a one hour extension from 11:30pm close to 12:30am. The 15th of Oct was a sell out within hours with nearly 40 people attending the day. We had a few phone calls asking to be on the list for a second event, which will be held on the 18th of November.

We collected three huge baskets, well over 3kg of delicious edible and brightly coloured mushrooms the group found a huge range and we collected over 10 different varieties for cooking back at the Walnut Club. One eagle eye member found some lovely colourful mushrooms which Paul identified as the coveted and quite delicious ‘saffron milk cap’.

The day around Longshaw Estate finished up back at the Walnut Club for a 3 course mushroom biased menu and further presentations by Dr Paul Thomas. Call us to book for our next event for only £35 on 01433 651155.

Calling all entertainers… Do you have what it takes to it make it onto the professional stage?

Search for a star, we are looking to hold regular cabaret nights and searching for the best of Sheffield’s and Derbyshire’s talent to entertain our clients across both venues over the Christmas period. We have been employing only local musicians at our live music venue at Hathersage, with a strong bias to jazz & swing for five years now and have now decided to offer the full repertoire of cabaret and provide a platform for other up and up and coming stars with special cabaret evenings. Sheffield is renowned for its success of comedy festivals, young bands and a city of culture. We want to provide a platform for it to blossom further. We are looking for three or four acts and a compere to make a complete cabaret evening with comedy and music included.

There will be three judges for the evening, Sophie Mei, semi finalist from Britain’s got talent, Roop Mullins from Sheffield Doub7e seven events and Richard Mills founder of the Walnut Club. A pianist will be available to support on the evening along with equipment microphone and CD recorder.

Tuesday the 17th of Nov at Hathersage on stage. 7:30pm.

People will be very welcome to come and support the acts and we will be offering a selection of meal deals for the evening with a choice of; Pie and peas, Fish & Chips, Bangers & mash or Potato Masala & rice for just £10 per head, limited numbers available. Call 01433 651155.
