REVIEWED at last by the ‘big one’

It has taken us nearly two years to get one of the worlds most recognised food reviewers out to Hathersage even after being quoted as one of the top 50 restaurants in the UK and reviewed by food critic of the year for 2006 by the national press. They came on a Tuesday night incognito and talked with our Head Chef Nick Wilson afterwards to say that he should keep up the good work and they will be back out in June to check on the consistency…

The New Summer Menu launch

We are still proud to say we are one of the UK's only organic or wild restaurants.

The summer is here at long last and we have our best menu yet, our menu is seasonal being completely organic and lasts around eight weeks. We have managed to source new and local producers and the cost of organic food is constantly improving which means an even more affordable menu with less food miles and it also helps sustain local producers and our environment at the same time!

Ł5- Ł10-Ł5 SET Menu - stays for another menu due to demand

Its now only Ł5 for any Starter or Dessert and Ł10 for Main courses. This has been so successful that we have seen restaurant numbers double during the week, the menu is available for lunch time and evening menus (excludes Fri & Sat evenings only)
This really gives foodies the chance to dine and experience our double Michelin award winning chefs amazing dishes at prices most people could not cook at home.

Lunch time specials

We are open from noon, the set menu is available as well as sandwiches or salads to enjoy the summer sun, maybe with a glass of wine… we have handcrafted outside furniture which is specially designed for your comfort to enjoy the glorious weather.

Do it in style and try a traditional three tiered afternoon tea or cream teas for just Ł2.95.

Live Jazz every Tuesday, Friday & Saturday Evening with a pianist to accompany Sunday lunch

We host around ten local upbeat jazz styled bands, the music is to compliment the food, and starts around 8pm and finishes around 11pm, and the table is yours for the evening. If Saturday evening is full come and experience the live music atmosphere in style on a Tuesday or Friday evening or maybe relax with a pianist over Sunday organic Lunch for only Ł9.95 with a pianist.

The Walnut Club Outside Catering

We are currently holding at least three large events a month where we provide catering for private parties of more than 20 and recently up to 200.

Recent events saw us cater for over 100 people at the Porsche centre at meadowhall for the Sheffield Chamber of commerce event. The event was an amazing success, we designed a special canapé styled buffet so it was easy for guests to eat while they met exhibitors, networked and listened to speakers.
